The Pilgrim's Sacred Guide
Essential knowledge, step-by-step rituals of Umrah, historical Miqat boundaries, packing checklists, and ground logistics designed by experienced scholars and concierge experts.
The 4 Pillars of Umrah
Every step explained clearly according to the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Ihram & Niyyah (The Sacred State)
Perform Ghusl (ritual bath), apply perfume on the body only (not on the Ihram garments), don the two seamless white sheets (for men) or modest clothing (for women), make your Niyyah (intention), and continuously recite the Talbiyah.
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am.”
Tawaf al-Umrah (Circling the Kaaba)
Perform seven anti-clockwise circuits around the Holy Kaaba starting and finishing at the Hajar al-Aswad (Black Stone). For men, unbare the right shoulder (Idtiba) and pace briskly (Raml) during the first three circuits. Conclude with two Rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim and drink Zamzam water.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
“Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire.”
Sa'i between Safa and Marwah
Ascend Mount Safa, face the Kaaba, raise your hands in fervent supplication, then walk towards Marwah. Men quicken their pace between the green illuminated pillars. Complete seven laps (Safa to Marwah is lap 1, Marwah to Safa is lap 2, ending on Marwah on lap 7).
إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ
“Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.”
Halq or Taqseer (Release from Ihram)
Men completely shave their head (Halq - highly recommended) or evenly trim at least one fingertip length from all over the hair (Taqseer). Women cut a fingertip length from the end of their hair braid. Your Umrah is now complete and all Ihram prohibitions are lifted!
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ
“O Allah, have mercy on those who shave their heads and those who trim.”
